One Backpack at a Time

 New Beginnings Bags works with the community in San Mateo County to provide a backpack filled with essential first night supplies for children when they enter the foster system.  We hope to make children feel welcome and cared for by the community on their first night.  The new foster family would like to focus on the  physical and emotional well being of the child rather than gathering supplies.  For the child, entering foster care can be scary and confusing with so many unknowns.  By providing their very own bag to hold their belongings and provide essentials,  we help both the child and foster family.   Stuffies or blankets with a welcome note remind both the child and family they are part of our community.  

We welcome individuals, groups, clubs,  religious organizations to pair with us and create complete backpacks for children of all ages.  Please contact us if you are interested in learning more about our organization or best ways to donate.  

Backpack (please fill new bag with all new unused items and add label indicating age range and sex )
